Diversity

Equality, diversity and empowerment

Play is essential to children’s growth and development. It is the means through which children learn about the world and come to an understanding of their own nature and capabilities.

Yet modern living, particularly in large cities such as Manchester, presents a formidable range of obstacles to the enjoyment of this essential childhood experience and there are increasing numbers of children suffering from play deprivation.

This is particularly true of children living with disability, or those who are at risk of social exclusion or discrimination. These children face greater obstacles than others do, to both opportunities and spaces to play. In being excluded or denied this basic right, they lose part of their childhood with implications for their future emotional, social and educational development.

Snakes and Slides Policy

The organisation recognises that talent, potential and needs are present in all people across the full spectrum of society. We recognise that personal, social and cultural diversity affects how these present themselves and we are committed to developing policies and procedures designed to prevent unfair advantage or disadvantage in any of our activities or procedures.

We aim to remove any barriers, bias or discrimination that prevents individuals or groups from realising their potential and contributing fully to our performance. We aim to develop an organisational culture that positively values diversity and we do this by ensuring that it is part of our customer service procedure.
